Furiously taps the “This director just ain’t for me” sign.
The movie seems fairly certain it wants to tell the story of Mary. This left me confused by Clark and how + WHY he factors into the story the way he does.
Having said that, there is a sequence that had my fear-of-heights-having-ass truly upset. I think that has to count for a lot.
Hard to not be captivated by a movie with the performances Marianne Jean-Baptiste AND Michele Austin are giving.
Real “we have Chaplin & Keaton at home” energy. Also, there’s a reason those Wylie E. Coyote cartoons were just segments in an overall 30 minute block.
