Creepy folk horror that had me feeling like I were trapped in an unsettled dream. Thought it was exceptional until the very end. After recently watching Xtro, I thought I had seen enough fully grown men being birthed, now I definitely know I never want to see one again.

Both leads were stellar and was shot beautifully throughout.

... I'm not sure why I don't love this as much as so many others, it might be the overly heavy use of obvious CG for the opening set piece. Usually these feel real and tap into a genuine fear; motorway pile up, bridge collapse, airplane blowing up. Things I've probably worried about at some stage. I don't think I've ever thought a brand new building could crumble as if made of dry sand before.

Some fun deaths, as always, but a weak ending, especially compared to 5 (which I saw the day before) sees it chart somewhere near the bottom of the franchise for me.

Hilarious look back at what the near future might have looked like. Drones from now are will always be floaters.

Gene Simmons has comic book villainy energy and his army of mechanical assassin spiders need a hard rethink. They literally posses exactly none of the characteristics they need to perform their only function.

Tom Selleck plays the emotionally damaged hunk (in his Temu Medieval Times chain mail) and as always is the only man able to pull off a tash…

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Tom Cruise really is cinematic hero. What he does with those planes in utterly breathtaking.

I went from thinking I didn't care to curling my toes with stress and making high pitched squeaking noises at the finale. I then shocked myself shedding a tear or two at the end.

Rollercoaster of a film.
