Highlight of the film was Barnett Parker's sophisticated vegetarian butler vs. John Wayne's small-town hick.

Another highlight was the surprising chemistry between Dee and Wayne. Mostly because (in my opinion) John Wayne wasn't the most impressive "romantic" actor. There's a scene on a ferris wheel that totally surprised me, because the way Wayne looked at Frances was so sweet. Actually, John Wayne's granddaughter said she believes her grandfather had a "huge crush" on Frances Dee....and I kind of believe her.…
