A recipe for scary comedy in which you can’t taste either of the constituent ingredients. But the transformation scene is still brilliant and David Naughton is just charming.

Glossy unserious abandon, essentially a 2hr music video. Emerald Fennell's best film to date. Martin Clunes tore.
I loved this. It blends sprawling corruption drama with elements of shaggy-dog comedy into something special. The plot is novelistic but propulsive. It shares some themes with I’m Still Here - but this is the more complex film.
It is visually superb in every way and Mendonca takes time to savour notes of dark comedy and sensuality on its winding path to the finale. I ate every minute up.
