In Georges Didi-Huberman’s 2009 book, Survival of the Fireflies, he centers much of his thesis around Pasolini’s 1975 article “Disappearance of the Fireflies.” The fireflies in Pasolini’s article and in GDH’s book refer to the glimmers (lucioles) of the proletariat against the blinding glare (luce) of fascism.
