Watched this last night. At times, very funny and other times, sad. When on stage or film he would light up. But off camera he was very much someone that was reserved I guess you could say. It’s sad he’s no longer with us, such an incredible talent.

I found this movie to be both funny yet having a serious message. The movie is directed by the very talented and creative Spike Lee and stars John David Washington and Adam Driver. Washington plays Ron Stallworth an officer for the Colorado Springs PD. If you love racing and in particular, Formula One…this movie will not disappoint. It’s a story of a veteran driver brought in to help mature a younger driver on the team who is egotistical. Adversarial relationship at first but something happens that bonds them closer. There is of course some romantic attraction that’s giving nothing away. But the focus is on racing as it should be. It’s an adrenaline ride of a flick.

So it’s important to realize this is not a John Wick 5 movie, it’s sort of a spinoff you could say with a new lead. I thought the acting was okay, it’s not superb, no Oscar nominations coming for this one. But, if you want 2 hours of action, it does the job. If you want a riveting story though then you may want to pass on this one.
