I actually think this movie is underrated! It deserves all the praise it’s received and more.

I keep coming back to and thinking about Sinners. It has stayed in my mind more than anything else I watched in 2025.

So many layers here intertwined with old folk music appear after rewatching. Example: Stack’s name (listen to Stack O’ Lee by Mississippi John Hurt if you haven’t before).

watched for Jean Harlow - she was the highlight of an otherwise pretty dull movie

Really beautiful, transporting and moving film. Feels like what it was to grow up and live in the year 2000.

Peaches can be bought. But where can you buy a whole orchard in bloom?
