First thing that sets this film apart from anything that Jafar Panahi has done before is how direct it is. As in how on the nose the film is about who it is talking about and how it is critical of the Islamist Regime governing Iran. Of course, the film is deeply personal since it comes after he himself was in prison.

Disgustingly transphobic and ends up affirming all the harmful transphobic stereotypes... from portraying trans folks as mentally unstable to the over used sex worker trope to the cisgender actor playing trans on screen. All just horrible. An entirely unnecessary movie. An entirely depressing movie for transfolks to be watching.
