As somebody adjacent to vaporwave but not within the scene around this time, I found this to be a fascinating look into how an internet sub-genre frames itself. There's no denying the cultural impact of this post-capitalistic music genre, and the doc does a pretty good job at explaining what vaporwave is to the uninitiated. OPN on the soundtrack + real fucking American degeneracy and drive to succeed in its most beautiful grotesque form. I love movies about a calling so divine that it almost kills the man that it decides to use as its vessel. I didn't want Marty to win, at any cost. Absolutely no notes. Probably not a perfect movie to everybody, but it is to me. I fucking love the Safdie-ness of this whole experience.
