hoarding films for reasons unknown
It was like a deep, deep wound healing. It can be read as an allegory of reconciliation, forgiveness, reconnection, or cutting cords with someone deeply dear to you. The dialogues are heavy and profound, but not overly revealing, which I really liked. I loved how the film kept its mystery, how it never fully showed its hand; thatβs also what made it feel subjective and personal. Itβs an interesting and strangely intimate film, one that feels tailored to each person differently, almost chameleon-like.
A slightly dark and twisted coming-of-age story; while the protagonist wanders through the depths of her own psyche, trying to make it out in one piece, she is also constantly moving through dark, uncanny physical spaces within the film, crossing and exploring them as she goes. To quote Rocky the alien: βAmaze, amaze, amaze.β
The script and the dialogue are so strong that I cried and laughed an almost embarrassing amount. It feels less like watching a film and more like being taken on an adventure. I liked the way the script occasionally remains ambiguous and how blurred the characters feel. The idea that exposing someoneβs psychological war with themselves is enough to control them makes the film feel less frightening than deeply unsettling and uneasy throughout.
