Enjoyably dark and deranged satirical 70s experimental comedy about a couple that meets and powers through meeting the parents to getting married in a dizzying speed told via chaotic monologues while in the middle of random street violence or a blackout or inept police interruption. Frenetic satire for sure.Β

Donald Sutherland gives a great speech officiating their wedding that is an all timer. Def pairs well with Taking Off that came out in 1971 too, def the weirdo Vietnam era post-hippie generational conflict satirical pairing.

Extremely anxiety inducing mood, production design and cinematography. New liminal horror king just dropped. Unsettling and not quite right at all times until it’s insanity and mental decay made manifest. Acting and directing top notch, script is very bare bones with just a hint of psychological trauma under the surface. A mystery that gives you no details or closure, just a heap of nightmare fuel.Β

Also sorry Gen-Alpha I love to see filmmakers your age kill it but you cannot…

TIFF 2024 #1: Scathing, urgent and will surely be an absolute wealth of embrassment for the entire Netenyahu Family. Lays bare with clear and concise plotting the facts around BiBi’s petty, entitled bribery and quid pro quo greatest hits then digs into his manipulation of media in his favour in exchange for helping secure bank loans.Β

Follows his path in avoiding corruption charges and maintaining power while he gets into bed with Israel’s alt-right extremists. A powerful indictment of his…
