My first Preminger was a very solid and effective whodunit that intertwines the buildup to Laura's suspected murder with an enlightening backstory à la Citizen kane around Laura's relationship with Lydecker which was very relevant to the killer's identity. Ot keeps you guessing until the end and the twist was thought through and coherent.
