Found the first hour pretty tedious if I'm being honest, but the payoff's strong, so I walked out feeling like me and this movie are good.
Sidenote: when the main character picked up a piece of bread and licked it, a girl in the back went, "eww-uh!" Funniest shit I heard all day.
Ain't bad for what it is. The script's kinda doin' the bare minimum in terms of plot and character. Arnie's the best part — makes you wonder why De Laurentiis and Fleischer didn't just do a third Conan movie.
I don't think the setup needed to be as long as it was, but whatever, this was dope. So many good ideas and such a great way to put them all together. When it comes to directors working today, it’s getting harder and harder to leave Coogler out of the tier 1 conversation.
First off, Nolan's out here making movies on another level, this thing. is. a. BEAST. While I don't think it's the masterpiece others do, there's probably not much keeping me from agreeing. Honestly, it just felt like a grind after a while. Keeping up with the timelines, the relentless tempo of the dialogue, the actual dialogue — it was a lot. And by the end, I was tired, not gonna lie. Very good movie, but give me a 2-hour-and-15-minute version, for real.
