Off-kilter, eerie low budget fare about a pulsating space brain controlling a group of children to disrupt the launch of an atomic rocket.

Weird, rather solemn in tone, and effective even with its clear lack of any real budget. The ever growing brain is the highlight, and it’s very, very Lovecraftian despite no one ever bringing it up when discussing Lovecraft-inspired films.

Sure the ending implies it’s benevolent with the message being “no more nukes is good!” But I enjoy…

Ruh-Roh Raggy! #8

“Like... we're not looking for any ghoul-friends, are we, Scooby?”

This time… the monsters are real! So says the memorable tagline. But they’ve met real monsters before. So… nothing really. That’s just been something I’ve thought about for years. Still an all-time great Scooby caper.

After A Pup Named Scooby-Doo ended in 1991, Scooby hibernated for years. No new content for the better part of the 90’s (No I’m not counting Arabian Nights, and neither should you),…

Sarah my beloved.

Well deserving of the hype, this was a deeply insane ride from beginning to end. Uncomfortable and intense, you are thrown through the wringer in this. You’ll suffer through your 4th wild scene of madness displayed across the screen then get hit with some truly superb comedy.

Definitely a blacker than black comedy.

Every time she moved like stop-motion brought a shit-eating grin to my face.

Be careful what you wish for!

“Memories are how we keep our loved ones alive.”

A heartbreaking and emotional comedy about silly little sheep trying to solve a murder. I LOVE the tone this film goes for. There’s real meat to it, confidently portraying itself as a goofy movie about talking sheep, while simultaneously unflinchingly looking at death, religion, forgetting loved ones, animal abuse, etc etc.

What a film. This was more than I could have asked for. Go watch this film, give it the love it clearly deserves.
