First review for the Daily Northwestern, got to see Iraq’s bid for best international feature. A super interesting watch that was outside of my typical collection of genres. Looking forward to writing more of these in the future.

I did not know what I was getting into when I accidentally booted up the directors cut. It’s been a while since I simply stared at my screen in utter silence as the credits rolled.

What a weird movie. There’s parts of this that are terrifyingly claustrophobic and then the rest… yeah no.
The script is terrible. The two leads are paper thin. Feels like a lot got cut, there’s SO much more that could be uncovered. I left unsatisfied.
Feels like this would be great as a TV series. Lots of cool concepts and atmosphere, not enough substance.
Three stars mainly for that camcorder sequence.
