I don’t think I’ve ever been more on edge during a movie in my life? What the fuck? Truly amazing sound design.
I think I’m going against the grain here when I say this is in my top 3 Scream movies. Horror likes to reflect the overarching fears of society and what’s scarier than deepfakes and para-social relationships? In the age of AI and the internet and a culture fueled by nostalgia, I feel like this iteration of scream was able to stay relevant while still poking fun at the tropes the franchise has spent years playing into. Also always shoot the killer in the face a second time, I feel like that’s a given at this point.
If Ishmael had dynamite (but then ran out). An amazingly heart warming movie and (unpopular opinion) one of We Anderson’s best.
