THIS IS CINEMA
The year is 2026 and I just watched TOP GUN at the cinema in IMAX. I think the last time I saw it on the big screen was more than 25 years ago when I hired out Odeon Putney for my 21st birthday party. This print looked, sounded and felt much better. And I’m now older than all but two of the cast.
I unapologetically, whole heartedly love this film.

My favourite so bad it’s bad movie. The plot along with the budget, and script are non-existent.
The supporting cast has several actors with more famous siblings. The running time is made up of endless slow motion and repeated action. And as for the eponymous Roller Blade Seven, there aren't even seven of them.
A must see movie. Giving independent film makers everywhere hope.
This came out the year after JUGGERNAUT and THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE and twenty years before SPEED.
It’s a solid crime thriller more than a disaster movie. It’s too long, there’s not enough Bullet Train action, and definitely not enough Sonny Chiba.

Never assume anything…
I assumed this was a low rent sequel to the 2019 film; an IP cash in from Millennium. I assumed having not enjoyed the 2019 film that I would not enjoy anymore Hellboy films. I assumed the low scores for this film would mean I wouldn’t enjoy it.
Thanks entirely to Dave I discovered all those assumptions to be false.
