The hype I was set up for with this film being an Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones fantasy epic quickly went away when the movie was halfway over and nothing had happened. Weapons feels like something that is a lot less than the sum of its parts. There’s a lot of great moments here and there but as a whole it doesn’t really stick that landing.
