There must have been so much work put into the training of the cats, getting the right shot at the right time.
Pretty much city pop the movie, those bright coloured 80s outfits and the bright happy faces of all those girls. But in the end it was really a subplot to the cats.

A very interesting concept. I can really get behind the scholarly way that they go about the experiment.
When things go wrong they go very wrong but in the end, alcohol isn’t presented as the villian here. Sometimes it’s even strongly encouraged. Maybe this is the norm in Denmark.
It’s more of a study of this group and how they each react differently.

This film really did a great job in emphasizing the loneliness of Linda’s motherhood. The descent into madness and a lack of control with everything. Not being able to see her daughter really
The first instance of the breaking point is when the ceiling actually breaks. Linda starts caving in on herself, bit by bit. Everything that follows is building on top of that, weighing her down more and more.

I’ve only seen the Taisho Roman Trilogy before this and I fell in love with Suzuki’s style.
Pistol Opera was confusing at times, very experimental, but it was so unmistakably Suzuki. Each shot looks like a moving painting, all the bright colours and remarkable costuming, He really does an exceptional job at catching your eye and holding your attention visually.
