love! great visuals with some good jump scares throughout. sound design reminiscent of the original series to set the scene. overall a really great adaptation of the original concept in a way that made sense for a movie (plot and characters over the atmospheric terror of the youtube series). loved the inclusion of the found footage sequences as well. explained enough to anchor the world while still leaving things pretty open and mysterious.

I’ve written and rewritten this review bc I am absolutely torn on whether I liked the movie. after a slow beginning followed by some pleasant character and plot development (and a series of extremely shocking unfortunate events), the credits hit like a premature Game Over screen. yes, there were some good moments between characters, and the use of dance music as a dramatic sting and to denote altered perception was cool if a little confused sometimes. and I was surprised!…
