#Horror365Challenge 140/365: Child’s Play 3

Ahh, the last of the Andy Barkley trilogy, except without Alex Vincent as Andy this time. I respect what Child’s Play 3 was going for more than I was ever scared by it; the plot is basically 1991’s Toy Soldiers, with a killer doll instead of terrorists. “Did you miss me Andy? ‘cause I sure missed you…”

This one is bigger and better than the first one. It can be a little slow and 80’s esque janky at times, but I would say that heightened the tension and atmosphere more than hurt anything. It’s also has some great scares and the last 30 minutes are all edge of your seat!

Horror365Challenge 58/365: Hellraiser (1987)

A classic and a masterwork by any speed. I consider this one of the Goldilocks horror movies: experimental and trying to push the boundaries of what horror can do, while trying to stay grounded enough to still scare the average person. Not too campy or silly in its effects and not too far gone from reality to not be understandable. I think it achieves this by telling the everyday, troubled story of a family with problems…
