Unfairly written off as another post-Tarantino flick, this has much more in common with Point Blank and The Outfit; it's a steely, no-bullshit heist-gone-wrong revenge story, the familiar trappings of which are offset significantly by the performances, particularly Keitel's, and John Irvin's lean, muscular direction. If you want your To Live and Die in L.A. itch scratched, this will excel at the job.
