A few gags and the pleasure of seeing Cameron Diaz back on the screen it’s not enough to distract from the laziness of the story and the poorly executed action scenes.
Somewhere in here there’s a good movie, but sadly it fails to scratch something beyond the surface. The film never properly owns its themes and gets pass through the shallowness that permeates it and, at the end, the stylish and atmospheric experience leaves you yearning for something that could have been.
In it’s concept the movie reunites distinguish ideas, but unfortunately the execution of it’s themes becomes a little muddy through the course, it’s a shame that it never reaches it’s full potential. But aside from the inconsistent storyline and the abruptly cut scenes, I couldn’t help being delighted by it’s stylish colorful visuals and Celeste Yarnall performance as a seductive bisexual vampire.
