Love Actually
★★★★★ Liked Rewatched

Love Actually is my first all-time favourite movie, and if it wasn’t for La La Land, this most precious gem of a film would still loom over any other movie ever made.

Love Actually is a movie I have watched at least 150 times, and each and every time fills me with joy and the best of spirits. It is a movie that means so much to someone so hopelessly helplessly painstakingly loveless like me. This movie shaped my personality…

10th Anniversary Screening

I listened to the whole Hamilton album for the first time in the summer of 2017. I can vividly recall where and when I first pressed the play button, and how the first song made me feel and how I fell in Love from the first moment. I've listened to the album for months straight - at home, at work, travelling, anywhere and everywhere, non-stop.

And to this day, I'm happily returning to this gem. I know…

Passenger
Watched

I was reminded of Passenger at last night's screening of Backrooms (a movie which I LOVED! and have a lot on my mind to share, but can't really put into something cohesive).

The reminder didn't spark in my own mind, considering I had practically forgotten about this dull and unlikable experience the day after. It was actually a person sitting behind me, saying, "...Passenger was better than Backrooms..."

That soundbite alone almost rewired my brain and eliminated my social anxiety,…

Small Things Like These
★★★½ Watched

Cillian Murphy offers an excruciating pensiveness in a performance that never allows for attention to focus on anything else but the screen. And then there is Emily Watson , whose on-screen presence filled me with genuine dread, turning this drama into a legitimate horror movie... which was a valid and understandable reaction, justified by reading the Wiki page after the movie.

Speechless, on account of the tears I cried during this.

Project Hail Mary is one of those movies that, if I died at this very moment, I would die happy if it were the last movie I saw. I hope I ain't going to croak a day before Oscars, and I already have a ticket to see this again on Thursday, so I have a lot to live for.

I don't really have words…

Mortal Kombat II
★★★½ Liked Watched

Mortal Kombat II is not a great movie. Mortal Kombat II struggles to be even a good movie. But after the incredible doomed yaoi fight, something clicked into place, and I was no longer kombating negative thoughts and began to enjoy this bloody nonsense of a movie.

MKII has so many likeable elements. One funny-as-fuck Aussie that once again claims the MVP award for his efforts, with Ludi Lin's Liu Kang trailing close second as he genuinely elevated every fight…
