A hoot, a holler, a joy, and everything in between. Wonderful cast, sharp writing, catchy soundtrack, and the movie just looks really cool. They nailed that 60s aesthetic. 

Movies like this don’t come by very often. 

It’s got a lot of heart, too. Feels very much like a “chase your dreams” movie.

Fun, happy little movie. I’ll have to watch the two and a half hour extended cut one day.

Feels like Martin Scorsese tried to direct a Wes Anderson movie without any of the humor.

It is, however, a technical masterpiece and I will give it that credit. I also enjoyed the cast, particularly the younger members.

But there is about as much narrative as my cat endlessly scratching at the pantry door. 

There were moments I liked and I thought it would pick up, but it didn’t. It also felt like this movie was stroking its own ego. It’s slow and has no real story. 

The stills from this movie promised me thrilling excitement and adventure. This was none of that.

You know what’s so frustrating about this movie?

It’s perfect. EXCEPT for the resolution. I thought that was absolutely botched.

Completely unsatisfying. They bring Lockjaw back so they can kill him off in the most lame way possible.

But sincerely, other than that, it’s perfect.

I could see Leo D getting his second Oscar for this.
