as a climate scientist i couldn’t help but love it, the last scenes especially showed how everything we’ve constructed on Earth is just that—a construction— and means nothing if we’re all dead. long live the bees!!
some genuinely shocking moments as well, it definitely earned its spot in the horror genre. overall loved how some of the more subtle horror themes (cycle of abuse/exploitation, generational trauma) interact with the major themes (disillusionment with authority, isolation under capitalism, mental illness and delusion)
