rewatched—a surprising feel good movie, the christian school/youth group environment is so accurate it throws you back into those emotionally manipulative group psychosis sessions

i’m rewatching this for the 100th time and it’s a near perfect movie HOWEVER if Elle did so good at her old school how come she shows up to Harvard with literally nothing??? no binder, laptop, absolutely zero. i don’t care if she was a fashion merchandising major you still have to like….take notes and do work. maybe it isn’t as vigorous as Harvard so she would still be unprepared but at that level? doesn’t make sense.

this felt like a bizarre fever dream set in an idealized 90s teen fantasy world. super fun and gorgeous, great music and performances but very strange story.
