I needed some grounded realism after Backrooms.

Dick Jones is the perfect villain name, I will accept no counterarguments.
"Only a master of evil... Dick."
"Dick. Your staff is broken."
"I am... Dick. I bid you velcome."

The neat thing about The Backrooms was always that it hit upon some sort of existential fear without getting too specific. The brittleness of reality. Tries very hard to tell us that it's Interstellar meets The Martian to the point where it feels less like a movie and more like some very excited people pitching you Interstellar meets The Martian (with dollar signs drawn in).

Which doesn't mean it doesn't work. I love Rocky as a concept, Ryan Gosling is lovable as ever and the effects are truly impressive. But at no point did I feel like anything but watching a big concept movie. Too movie logic, too shiny, not quite grounded enough.
