Watching at 4am with a baby that won't sleep. Tired and stressed. But it still manged to bring a smile to the face and a tear to the eye.

A nice Bond style pre-credit scene which makes Mando look like a cross between Batman and Clint Eastwood. Followed by a Blade Runner type world, a Martin Scorsese cameo and an incredible score by Ludwig Göransson. This does well to off set those fears of "it's just an extended episode"
Unfortunately that stops 20mins in and we have an hour and 40mins of basically and extended episode. Trying to straddle a line of not doing anything to piss off fans…
Visually stunning. Gosling in Nice Guys mode but replacing Russell Crowe with a rock. Is a wonderful choice.
Skirts close to greatness. But has more endings than Lord of the Rings. Tonely it is afraid to shift gears. There's a 3rd act revelation that is shrugged off with an "ah well" then continues as a family buddy movie.
That said, easily the best films of the year so far. Lord and Miller continue to impress and leave us all wondering what that Solo movie could have been.
