I genuinely believe that Backrooms is so close to being a perfect movie with some tweaks to the story and pacing. I would’ve loved if they cut the first 25-30 minutes since I didn’t care for that and added in more exploration of the backrooms since this was my favorite part. As for the good, this was a production design masterclass. The sets were awesome and cinematography/sound design helped elevate the atmosphere.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is up there with the worst Star Wars movies of all time. Ultimately, they play it safe with the direction while using the typical cliches from the show. I would’ve loved to see some risks taken, whether it be within the story or visually, to breathe some life into the movie.
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind was ahead of its time in terms of its visual effects and direction. I truly appreciate this movie because we will never ever see an alien movie like this again. So glad I was able to check this out before Disclosure Day.
The Drama is a big step up for director Kristoffer Borgli. It’s a unique romance movie in terms of the ideas that’s its presenting but these ideas can be overwhelming at the same time. Pattinson and Zendaya were a great couple but I think Zendaya is the standout performance here.
Robert Eggers just doesn’t miss man. This is my #3 movie of the year and the best horror of the year. Just perfect craftsmanship with the cinematography, makeup/costumes, sound design. There’s so much to list about this movie that is perfect but I think these were my favorite parts. Every member of this cast brings their A game and it is a joy to watch. Can’t wait to watch this again.

This movie has me speechless writing this review right now, I can’t believe what I just watched. It was the most disgusting movie that I’ve had the pleasure of watching and it had my stomach churning those last 30 minutes. The whole cast is phenomenal and that ending is just a cherry on top for a movie that lives up to the hype.
Can’t forget to mention how amazing the technical execution was. The eerie feeling was just built so easily with the sound design and the cinematography.
