I still contend it gets better with every rewatch.

I love you Christian Bale but this one just doesn't hold up very well. Pretty middling despite the cast. This one got a lot of buzz when it came out but it never really got there for me, especially when everyone was comparing David O Russell to Scorsese. As if.

Once again, great if you like staring at pretty pictures while not feeling a single emotion. I simply can't find a way to care about Paul or any other people or relationships in here. Can't wait for Denis to move on. He previously talked about not reaching the level of emotionality that he wanted to in part 1 and hoped to fix it in 2, sad to say it's a bit better emotionally but not by enough.

Still, a wonder to look at and the level of artistry all around is top notch.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

This movie's all over the fucking place but then so isn't John's entire life? Life's a mishmash of all of these different things, throw in alcoholism and a werewolf and that's a hell of a bender.

Creative. Entertaining for sure. I've never seen anything by Jim Cummings before, so this was an intriguing intro to his work for me, I look forward to watching more.
