This movie will go from high highs to low lows in mere minutes, something that is apparently a safdie specialty. its a big ball of neverending chaos with timothee chalamet sprinting inside like a hamster: capturing this perfectly unlikable and terrible person whose swagger and ambition makes him stand out in a world of other hateable people. his performance in the final act really sold me on this movie.

nothing else matters besides being the best. or at least, if only for a moment, feeling like you are. dream big!

beautiful, raw, and really sincere. the main cast is absolutely amazing, like I could absolutely see the 4 main characters all getting best actress/supporting actress/supporting actor nominations. this is a really heartfelt story about family, generation-spanning trauma, about art and how we connect with it, but it also surprised me with how funny it was. Joachim Trier puts on a directorial masterclass with this one. a really moving film.
