Attention: This the Admiral Speaking

[And then the voice. Familiar, but just beyond recognition, but no hint of mockery there any longer. No cruelty, just...tired. The Admiral sounds very tired.]

My apologies for recent inconveniences. All intruders have been expelled from the ship. Repairs are being made to the hull and environmental controls. The Infirmary and all other detached spaces have been restored. Communications should be fully operational now.

Unfulfilled requests from the last week or more may be resubmitted for approval, and while we apologize for the lateness in proper Warden/Inmate sorting, please be advised that this shall not be completed until all necessary repairs to the ship have finished.

[Locked to Wardens of Group-4 Inmates]

[In your cabins, a pendant has appeared, THE pendant that your Inmate accepted in exchange for promises to make trouble, maim, kill, et cetera

If you can hear this, then your Inmate made a deal with our recent intruder. You may deal with this information however you see fit.

[/Lock]

Oh. And Happy Halloween.

(ooc: This takes place after the Admiral was found and  returned to the Bridge, which should be the result of this thread, which is as yet unfinished. Crewmembers have vanished. Broken facilities and equipment are unbroken. Booboos bandaged, inclement weather halted, all facilities restored to their famously normal luster. Oh, and any Inmates that accepted a pendant from good old RF? Your Wardens have them now, if you hadn't guessed.)

A Word From Your Admiral

I'm back. Don't everybody cheer at once now.

Sorry to say, as I'm sure the Inmates absolutely loved this whole 'no restrictions, go hog wild' thing with the powers, but the status quo-- ah! the good ol' status quo-- has returned.

Well, regarding powers, anyway. There are going to be some changes coming-- mainly, all teleportation and spaceships will find that they can't get off of the public areas and into places like, oh, I don't know... THE CONTROL ROOM anymore-- so I'll expect you to listen up when they come around.

By the way, all weapons that miniature overlord of yours handed out are hereby revoked. Say bye-bye to the knives now! All of the dead are hereby restored and-- oh, and 'Admiral' Master, I've given your warden something of yours to hold onto for safekeeping. I'm sure you know what it is.

One last thing: the staff's not coming back. Please attend to this in your own way.

Now, rest up, relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet for a bit.

Security Announcement

It seems that some of you are not seeing the benefits of co-operation... I made it clear, did I not, that you were allowed privacy from one another, in exchange for certain rights? I made it clear, did I not, that these communications would be monitored for reasons of preventing criminality?

I made it clear, did I not, that consequences would be enacted, if these simple rules were not followed? Rules being made for the benefit of us all, to allow for a productive, efficient society.

The renegade time Lord faction is not to be freed, until such a time as their interrogation has yielded results. I have been doing my very best to improve the rest of your collective existences and yet there remain some among you, who insist upon martyrdom.

Allow me to make this clear:

While visitations are allowed, any physical tampering with the cells shall be met with immediate extermination. More than this - the entire deck shall be locked and purged with a resolutely lethal dose of radiation. Those who you have been in recent contact with, similarly, shall be held under immediate suspicion and have their rights revoked.

If this does not succeed, then more widespread disciplinary methods are available, including the selective use of life support.

Please... For the sake of your fellow citizens, do not meddle in affairs detrimental to their health. You are soon to contribute to a far greater purpose than any single one of us can achieve, on his or her own and I do demand nothing of these 'inmate' and 'warden' responsibilities.

Should any of you notice such unwelcome activities, however, I can be quite rewarding, if you take the necessary initiative to prevent them, yourselves.

Citizens of the Barge: Your Mission

[Those near windows or on the deck may notice a bright, orange planet in the distance, and some of these ships quite a bit closer to the Barge. Across the Barge, a message rings out:]

Citizens of the Barge:

While I'm sure you are having so much fun with the little games I set up for you, play time's over. It's time to put you to work. I come to you with opportunity. A chance to leave your mark on the universe. Together, we will crush whole civilisations, subjugate worlds, create a new empire that will stretch throughout time and space, transcending whole realities.

And what do you get out of this? Your full capacity... restored to the fullest extent. Visits to your home worlds, your times, your loved ones, so long as you do as I say.

Of course, I could simply use coercion to get what I want, but I'm feeling generous. Obey me, and we both win.

Now isn't that marvellous?

What you see before you is your first mission. You will--

[And then there's a sudden, violent lurch.]

Ah! What--

[And now: static, followed by silence, as the Barge feels as though it's being pulled off its determined course]
thumbs up!

REPOST. I just noticed it was in the wrong community D:

[Another announcement can be heard across the Barge]

Citizens, rejoice! This is your Lord and Master speaking, with a friendly little word for our Inmates:

The wardens' lives are in your hands now. You hold the power. Why don't you make them feel it? Make them squirm.

You're in control. Have fun with it and I may reward you as I have a fair few already.
triumphant, glee

Citizens of the Barge: This is your Lord and Master speaking.

[Every journal that can receive video will find itself with a moment of static, followed by a still shot of the deck, featuring Rose Tyler's lifeless body. It's a clean death-- the life had simply been choked out of her moments earlier. As the video plays, an "Admiral's Announcement" is blared throughout the Barge. This time, however, it's all too clear whose voice it is.]

Citizens of the Barge: This is your Lord and Master speaking.

...

Surprise!

Oh, I had a big speech prepared for this moment, but really, who wants to listen to me go on and on, when we have a few new games to play? I know you're as eager as I am to get to them.

So! Our special guests are flown in all the way from Cellblock 0 to pay each and every one of you a little visit! Angel, Rayne, Drusilla, Aleera-- COME ON DOWN! The Barge is your playground for the next 24-hours, so make it count, kids!

And of course, none of this could be possible without our budding entrepreneur, who viewed her own profits as more important than your lives... Anya Jenkins! Let's give her a round of applause, shall we?

...

Oh! You're probably wondering why our dear Rose Tyler is just lying there like a useless corpse, aren't you?

I just wanted you to watch. She isn't coming back unless the right person begs me.

Take note of this, Wardens. I guess what I'm trying to say is... None of you are safe.

HAVE FUN!

[OOC: Vampires are free to go and still have their abilities for the next 24 hours. Details on the vampires' release can be found here! Feel free to respond to him, he'll probably gloat back or just ignore you.

Rose's death isn't finished yet, but when it is, this will be updated with a link for any characters to go to the deck and see!]

Admiral's Announcement

Citizens of the Barge:

Due to expressed concerns over the safety and security of our fine passengers, the following have been indefinitely sentenced to Level 0, effective immediately:

Aleera
Drusilla
Lestat
Rayne

And because he did such a good job setting up security on the Barge, Angel will be sent along with them to keep the peace. Perhaps you'll all rest soundly tonight.

Now, onto other business. The following Warden/Inmate assignments are now into effect:

Claude Rains/thevanishingman - Sylar/gray_atonement *interim assignment
Gregory House/dr_cripple - Babyspo0kshow_baby
Jaye Tyler/notababysaver - Rick/tehpeoplespoet
Libby Ann Widmorethatlibbychick - Drusilla/deathly_dru

[OOC: For the next FIVE DAYS the vampires will be sentenced to Level 0. However, while Lestat's named in the announcement, he's been purposefully left loose to hunt for now. Level 0's on a full lockdown, so no visitors. And no food. LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR RELEASE!

Also, your characters can respond to the Admiral and he'll probably talk back]

January Flood + Extended Plot

So, we have some big plans for January, which will lead to some permanent changes in the game (such as the implementation of jobs, the end of the replenishing items, and Level 0 being barred from visitors). We hope that these changes will hopefully make things more dynamic for the characters, and give inmates more to do than complain about being bored!

Now, how these changes will come about will be put into place over the course of January, through a plot that we hope everybody will be active in! First thing's first:

VICTIM FLOOD - January 3rd through the 7th
All Inmates will wake up to find themselves as a victim of theirs. This can be somebody they've hurt emotionally or physically, directly or indirectly, purposefully or accidentally through the course of their life. This can be somebody they've killed, or somebody whose life they ruined-- anything. This individual MAY be somebody they've affected on the Barge, as well. Wardens will be expected to help their Inmates through this potentially mentally scarring experience.

While at first this may seem like a body swap, as time passes, the Inmate may begin to feel more of their victim's personality slipping through; some feelings, associations, memories, etc., until the line between the Inmate and the victim becomes blurry.

This will then lead into:

THE ADMIRAL'S GONE INSANE - January 9th through January 30th
Either the Admiral's gone bonkers, or somebody's taken his place. It's up to the characters to find out-- or he'll just announce it. Whichever comes first.

This event will be divided into three weeks (although it can be shortened or lengthened as necessary, depending on how active people are), with Barge-wide changes, some of which will be permanent, and some of which will only be temporary. WHEN these changes actually go into effect, there will be an Admiral post announcing such, with further details.

For now, here's an overview, so you guys can use this as a springboard for plots:

Collapse )

PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS EVENT DISCOURAGE YOU FROM DOING YOUR OWN PLOTS IN THE MEANTIME, so long as these plots pay mind to what's going on in the Barge; you can't have your plot blatantly ignore any of these changes! The changes won't be terribly intrusive at first-- in fact, some characters may not even notice them at all. Plotting is encouraged!

SO. Questions, comments, ideas? Feel free to plot with each other here.
