PORT: Land of the Dead

Rei, here! (This would normally be posted under one of my accounts but since this is getting linked to the main info page, I decided to keep it under the mod name.) It's getting to that time of year again. As of May 4, The Last Voyages, as a community, has existed for three years. This was also the date of the very first In Character posts. On June 1st, the third year anniversary of TLV's official opening will come to pass. So this is partially an unofficial "Happy Birthday TLV!" post. I also intended to repost this on June 1st but saw reason to push the date forward.

I want to say that I feel like we're still running strong. Stronger than ever before. With that in mind, I would like to revise and re-iterate a Mod Note made just under a year ago, regarding how issues are handled on this game, how we deal with drama and anonymous shenanigans, which will be linked on the main page with the rules set and will henceforth be considered official policy that every new player will see on coming in.

Barge Changes

Here’s the finalized list of changes that are going to be implemented into the Barge, starting 5/5/09! It’s a lot of repetition from the first post, but there are some clarifications here that you should bear in mind (regarding such things as the showers, which seems to be an endless case of confusion). The rules, FAQ, and previous informational posts will soon be updated reflecting these changes, but as of now, consider them official and in play.

BARGE JOBS
In order to keep the Barge running and the community... relatively happy, there are a number of job positions that Inmates will need to fill. That's right, guys, it's no pleasure-cruise. Your Warden will likely assign you a job function, and once they do, you'll be added to these rosters. Comment here once you've been assigned.

Jobs are primarily for Inmates. In fact, certain positions-- such as the kitchen and any supportive position-- are solely for Inmates. Wardens may take Supervisory Positions, which are limited to no more than two per job, and Professional Positions-- such as the Infirmary, Engine Room and Research Lab. If you would like to know why your Warden can only apply to a professional job (Infirmary, Research Lab, Engineering) or a supervisory position, please check the FAQ. Your Warden can only temporarily fill in for other positions in periods of crisis.

Jobs are an IC DECISION. Please don't come here and request a job if your character hasn't gotten permission or been assigned to it.

Note on Misc Jobs: These are either smaller staffed/less demanding jobs or player-created ones. So, if your character is an enterprising individual and manages to create their own little job function, go ahead and comment here with the details, and we'll add it to the list!
