Her name was Jeyne Ley. She was one of the gaggle of Lyanna's friends who rode south with them so that Lyanna would have friendly company on the journey home. It had been one night only; Ned full of grief over marrying Brandon's betrothed, and full of regret in the morning. He never asked why Jeyne had agreed.

There was a son and Jeyne had her own betrothed waiting for her. Ned knew honor better than anyone: he took Jon in, raised him as his own. And for the sake of Jeyne, for her husband and children, he never told.
