Del had always assumed that the best fighters were born with a song inside them, and that this was why they went on to become swordsingers. She could hear her own song clearly, its cadence as constant as the beating of her heart.
A song full of promise, a song seeking vengeance. A song that guided her path and her sword, and would lead her to victory.
Surely, she had thought, it must be much the same for other warriors.
But that was before she met Tiger. The man had no understanding of music, or magic. And yet…
And yet.
