Author's Note: This one goes out to loony4lupin for the LJ community remus_reads in relation to the Remus Lupin Birthday Ficlet Exchange 2007. I hope loony4lupin likes it. I am going to be honest with you. As soon as I saw the request, I ignored loony4lupin’s first choice (Remus/Tonks) in favour of the second choice (Remus/Sirius). Maybe it was because that my last Remus/Sirius fic that was plainly smut was in October 2006 (well I had done two other R/S fics since then but they were more focused on plot rather than just plain smut) and I wanted to try again as Remus/Sirius is my OTP. I did try twice to write a Remus/Sirius fics using her ideas but they ended up having a sad theme to them and loony4lupin didn’t want that. Anyway, mainly thanks to the challenges I had written for the community rt_challenge, I then became intrigued to write a Remus/Tonks fics and today (1st February 2007), an idea came into my head and by the end of the day, it was written and typed up and waiting for a beta reader. Oh and for the record, in case anyone is interested, I have not abandoned my two failed attempts--they will be written and typed up and put up on my fan fic journal. I had finished writing it way back in November 2006 and started to type it up in December but then I got caught in the witchwinter fic exchange and then I wrote a back up fic for that and then I joined more fic challenges and this story was on of the many stories that were put in indefinite hold. Anyway, it’s now finished and I hope it was worth the effort :-) Remus’ picture was only put in when I was typing it up and it was influenced by this piece of fan art by azureflight. Okay, this art shows the Marauders and Haryr isn’t even born yet but it influenced me so there lol

Author's Note: This was meant to be a 100 word drabble but it ended up becoming a fic. Shows how much just writing and going with the flow can do to you. I started writing it on 30th December until about 2am and then I left it alone. The next night, I started to type up what I had written it and then I found this piece of art in my memories section: http://community.livejournal.com/s… and it was similar to what I had written up and so using that art as inspiration, I somewhat improved my fic a little bit. So I would give special note to the mystery artist for this piece of art. I also found another piece of art which has influenced another prompt LOL

Notes: This chapter was probably the hardest part of the entire story. I knew how I wanted it to end, but I found it hard to tie all the loose ends involving Harry and Remus. I also wanted the story to end in a certain way and it was very hard to write. Well, seeing that this is on the net, it looks like I tackled the problem. Also, in case you didn’t know, a “dummy” is the English/British word for “pacifier”. You lot probably knew that but I’d thought I’d tell so I don’t get asked about it. Notes: The story has had many changes but I can honestly say one thing has always stayed the same: from the beginning, I knew that the baby would be a boy and that his name would be Ben Connor. I had an idea for a story in which Remus had amnesia, and he called himself “Ben” as it seems like a “Remus” name. “Connor” is in fact a name (originated from Celtic/Irish) and it means “wolf-lover” (information from http://pregnancy.parenthood.com/ba…).
