While appearing at NYCC in 2010 Katee was kind enough to donate an autograph to be auctioned off for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. In addition to helping people living with HIV/AIDS BC/EFA is also a major supporter of The Actor's Fund (which helps members of the entertainment industry during times of crisis) and the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative (which helps women in the entertainment industry w/preventing and living through Breast, Cervical and Ovarian Cancers).

In case anybody has missed this, Katee and Tricia are doing a 2500 mile bike ride from LA to New Orleans to raise money for the Gulf clean-up effort. As a part of that effort, they have been doing live video chats every night to answer questions and share stories about their adventure. The videos have been funny and amazing.

(p.s. Katee and Tricia are not shy when it comes to swearing - especially when they run into technical difficulties, so maybe don't watch this without headphones at work or around small children)

Today officially marks the end of my fan site for Katee, kateesackhoff-fans.com. The site is now showing only a placeholder, which will probably remain until the end of the month (or whenever Earthlink actually reaps the site).

If anyone wants any of the content from the site, feel free to email me. I actually have all of it on two DVDs and could provide it to anyone interested in hosting any of it; I've already given a copy to Justin, the admin of Katee's official site.

As for the fate of this community, I'd say that's up to the members.

When we founded our website three years ago, Katee had no official site and very little, if any, web presence. Today, she has a fine official site, she's on Facebook and MySpace, she has a blog ... she's all over the web, in fine style. And we, alas, while remaining huge fans of hers, have little time any more to devote to the site. So we've reached a sad conclusion: As of January 31st, 2010, we will be shutting the site down. We're leaving it up until then so that fans can take anything off it that they want. We've always been open about sharing everything we've gathered, and if you want to host something from there, feel free.

Thanks for all the kind words over the lifetime of the site, and special thanks to Katee for letting us interview her, photograph her, follow her all over the country, and, of course, being such a wonderfully talented actress. And a super-nice young woman.
