Kaguradan was originally a sort of one shot, screaming hallucination brought on by lack of sleep, high tension, school finals, and far too much Kishidan-- and a group of friends decided to band together to do art together.
However, there's real life. And while vonbrigthi and I intend to take Kaguradan in the direction of a real business, I've noticed that this community has been less and less active to the point even I'm not sure why I'm keeping it, except for the name.
While we're restructuring, I feel a bit bad for everyone sitting here and watching an empty community, so I'm posting up a notice now that this place will be going on a temporary hiatus. Until we reopen again, here are links to where people _are_ being active:
I have been and will continue to post both my original and fan works on my own lj redplaticglass as well as further info on what the group is involved in. We have a small DIY comic compilation that's coming out soon. :) cugami continues to post art on cugart tammylee posts both on her own lj and on her laleeloo journal which is for site updates and fanart, I believe? vonbrigthi can sometimes be convinced to post her artwork up, and when that occurs, it'd appear on her lj The same with dutchoven joint pieces with either of them will likely end up on my LJ. (because they're lazy. -_-;)
I think that's all for people actively posting art up these days. If I missed someone, poke me, and I'll throw the link up.
I realized I hadn't posted anything here for eons so.... since this piece was rather experimental, I might as well XD
art process I am addicted to clouds... I want to learn how to make it look so soft and fluffy and real. I realized that that big round thing over there did anything but make it look real lol
I tried using oC4 but geh, I couldn't save anything since the trial date already expired. XD So I just print-screened and salvaged the smaller version in photoshop.
Well somehow I spent my entire day on one panel and I still failed. Granted my day started at noon, but you know. Boo hoo. Note to self, stop being a lazy marshmallow and take a reference photo like a normal person.
I'm also posting these fanart100 pieces now because if I don't, I'm just going to keep picking at them for the rest of my life. I mean, okay, I probably still will pick at them, but... nevermind. This is why I can't paint.
So far, all the colour prompt pieces are not very creative and are basically me attempting to practice using Painter and my tablet and failing spectacularly. Honestly, these things took me 300 years. That's bad. Anyways, that's my excuse for not giving them creative titles like, "The morning shadows fell over the quiet villa and I felt a terror grip my spleen".
Well, alright, no fuzzy hats (maybe next time). Everytime I try to sit and draw something 'serious' I end up with scribbled things like this... I don't know what to say.
Guest appearances: Lucius, Voldemort, Snape, Dumbledore, Hagrid and his umbrella.
I haven't been posting much, have I? Here's a little something for the start of the Holiday season, sort of. Alright, it isn't really, but I'll just say it's the case. The next one comes with hats with little fuzzies on the tip and actual Christmas-y cheer.
As soon as I'm done inking these two other sketches (more ShounenJidai, as I'm having far too much fun with their clothes), I will further prove my hypothesis that, it's not that I don't draw backgrounds, it's that I can't.
And why is my inking getting so stiff. Rarr. [Edit: Wait, I know what's wrong. I didn't put in good blacks. Like, I have solid blacks for entire areas, but there needs to be more in other areas, and. Arg. *stabs eyes*]
There was going to be little blue magelights, but I couldn't draw them correctly-- and well, I got tired. I think I'm dangerously close to overdrawing/art-deathing this piece so I'm going to stop here and call it finished.
Pretend..uh... Lucius's couch-bed has a light installed in the drapery holders... *cough*
Finally I was able to scan my doodle of a new character I cooked up for a planned kaguradan anthology. He is a love-lorn gunslinger travelling the expanses of space, known only by the initial "G"! And he has a train.
