in which I babble about writing and stuff
O hay I'm alive.
GAH DOWNLOAD FASTER, PoT I NEED YOUR CRACKY-GOODNESS.

I HAVE NOTHING IMPORTANT TO SAY 8D ogod Nightwish is eating my brain.
Oh, but I pirated Word 2000 the other day, thus granting myself access to all the old stuff I wrote back in high school. I wrote a lot back then. I had two prospective 'novels' going on during my uhh...junior-senior years maybe...not to mention all that fanfiction! XD Anyways, I figured out the problem with my writing back then while I was reading/bashing my head on the keyboard repeatedly: I spent far too much time describing unnecessary things, I got much too descriptive when it came to minor characters who were only supposed to be in the story for like one scene and never reappear again, not to mention the fact that I was severely lacking in knowledge of some things I was writing about XD;;
I was just like... "O____O I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOOD?!"
Haha, I guess it's like that with anything though. That's how you know you've improved, when you're looking back on your old stuff and you find yourself embarrassed for your younger, stupider self.
As for those novels I was trying to write...I never finished them. I realized when I was 68 pages into the first one that I didn't really have a clear idea of where the hell I was going with it! Same goes for the second, although it wasn't nearly as long. I think that one only got to like 16 pages or something.
I'd like to think of a good idea. But every time I start thinking of something, I'm like, "Well, I bet that one's been done about nine thousand times!" and I want to write about something that nobody's ever thought of writing about. Probably the reason I've stuck with fanfiction is that it's just easy; there it is, a whole fictional world already created and all you have to do is come up with a fun way to screw with the characters! Maybe even make a few characters to toss into the mix as well, why not?! You're like "WELL I've got the perfect character in mind for this, he/she should totally be in the storyline!" And then you have people accusing you of creating another horrid monster, a dreaded MARY SUE! (DUN DUN DUNNN dramatic pause) But not YOUR character!! You're like "BUT SHEEZ NOT A MAREY SOO COZ SHEEZ NOT BUTKIKING AWSUM LIEK EVRY1 ELSES MAREY SOOS"
But I digress. I'm kinda diverging from my original topic >_> I'm not really sure where I'm going with this! I guess I was thinking of participating in the NaNoWriMo thing, but then I started thinking that I don't really have any solid ideas for a storyline, and also, I don't really think I'd be able to get 50k done in like...19 days! OH NOES.
...I burned cookies today D: And, piece of sagely advice: if you've ever got an orange and think, 'Hay, I have nothing to pierce it with, how am I gonna peel it??' and then get the bright idea to bite it--DON'T DO IT. T_T
THE END. 8D
