Great idea! The presentation was so great, it really kept me hooked. One of my favorites so far
Glad you liked it!
I beat it, it took a while ngl, crab is too op vro ;) GG
Thank you for the dedication! The crab definitely understood the assignment 🦀
The game has good bones, I enjoyed smacking the crab and his attitude was funny. I wish I could dodge the crabs attack with a well timed dash to get more cash / damage off before having to return though. At a certain point I was just like "why am I running at all?" Because it was essentially an incremental clicker game with extra steps (literally) but the polish and humour made up for it alot.
I'm glad you liked it! There were definitely upgrades planned to utilize movement that ended up getting cut.
I like that the max damage is 42 :P I cant believe I played to the end . Nice work.
Max damage being 42 was unintentional, but that just proves it was meant to be!
Thanks for dedicating the time to grind through my silly clicker game! It must mean I did something right if people are willing to do that.
I enjoyed this quite a lot, even though the crab was pissing me off haha. It's a very solid interpretation of the limitation. That health bar barely moved even though I sank a ton of points into crit, damage, and attack speed! That's what happens when you're up against an OP enemy. Great work, you did a lot with the visuals, sound, and music to make a neat game :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was giggling to myself as I implemented the healthbar and it sounds like it had the effect I wanted.
Super fun clicker game. I love the crab constantly taunting me for not doing enough damage, then eating my face. Well made!
When planning the game, I knew early on that I needed the crab to taunt the player. Glad people are enjoying that aspect.
Thanks for playing!
Fun music and a solid premise. It’s essentially an incremental clicker with a fun twist, which works really well here. The pixel art looks good, and the upbeat soundtrack fits the pacing nicely. I even saved up just to buy the health bar to see what I was up against — that crab definitely understood the theme 😄
I was really hoping to push the gameplay even further, so that it's not purely a sit there and click incremental game, but would incorporate movement for increasing damage output. But that was a bit ambitious for 72 hours haha.
Wish I could claim having made the art/music, but I'm not talented enough in those departments. At least I can say that I chose which ones to use well enough.
I'm eternally grateful to the Crab God of Death for gracing my game with a fraction of his true power.
Thanks for playing!
игра хорошая. даже добротная
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great work. It’s a bit of a grind, and even with the health upgrade, I was still getting one-shotted immediately! However, the crab's taunts are brilliant, they provide the perfect motivation to keep trying. I really enjoy the 'nearly unbeatable enemy' concept.
You misunderstood the healthbar, that's my bad for not making it clear. It gives you the ability to see the enemy's giant healthbar. Sorry for the confusion, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
oh okay!! that makes quiet a bit more sense now. Thank you for letting me know.
To overpowered HAHAHAH, i loved the game, artstyle is beautiful and sfx is pleasant
I'm glad you liked it!
Fun idea! I wonder if its necessary to have to walk up and aim your attacks? Maybe its just because I am using a crappy trackpad on a laptop, but I kept missing which could overly punishing at times. But yeah, there's definitely something satisfying and addictive to this concept. Nice job!
Trackpad definitely isn't ideal for the original vision I had (more movement and having to adjust which direction you attack, which would validate the need to walk up and start swinging too).
Thanks for playing!
The concept is very clever and elegant. I didnt know that trying to hit a simply aura farming enemy would be so satisfying :D I did try to dash away towards the graveyard but that crab followed me. Truly overpowered. Great Game! and lovely art.
There is no escaping the Death Crab.
I'm glad you liked it!
Lovely artwork and music! Cool mechanic and crabs are cool. My favorite so far! :) great work
Wish I could say that I made the art, but it comes from Kenney.nl
I'm glad you enjoyed it tho!
I like how this is the first entry in the jam I've seen so far where it's the enemy that's OP rather than the player!
I wish the upgrades didn't jump in cost so much, to only increase a little bit in power. I think my mouse would break before I'd be able to actually complete this one, which is a real shame.
I may have gone overboard on the cost increase curve haha. I wanted to add movement based upgrades to alleviate the feeling of just standing in one spot clicking endlessly.
The Death Crab only has 100,000 health... totally doable eventually. The real issue is that I don't know if you can buy all the upgrades before the crab dies with how expensive they get. I think having more multipling damage upgrades would make the later purchases feel like bigger increases for sure.
Thanks for the feedback!
Game looks amazing and feels nice but it's not anything too innovative.
You are 100% correct, innovation really screwed my last game jam (which had WAY more time to work on it lol). The limited time also squashed some of the more innovative ideas I had for this project. At least I have "number go up."
The art is thanks to Kenney.nl free assets, but at least I can take credit for gamefeel!!!
