A little late for Butch Appreciation Day, but please have this Lia headshot anyway. Exploring her butch identity from a Chinese POV has been really meaningful on different levels.

“Butch” is pretty distinct to American queer history and culture, and logic dictates that other nations (particularly where English may not be the dominant language) have their own unique identities that are born from their experiences and sensibilities.

In Chinese, the 鐵T or “IronT” identity is a close equivalent to stone butch, and that’s where I’ve placed Lia.
