Hi everyone... I am in need of some advice, help and / or ideas about a rib koi fish tattoo I am after.

I still want the same basic design and have thought about my options for placement which are driving me crazy.

- I am steering away from having it come down, near my stomach incase I have children I dont want it to stretch etc. So I thought of having it maybe curve down towards my back however I haven't seen many tattoos like this so I can get a feel of what it will look like.

- I am still unsure if I want the koi to be swimming up or down on my body...

- Colouring I'm thinking of mostly black & white for the background/outer wave and most of the koi and have a little colour for the inner waves, little bit on the koi and have all the flowers colour.

Any advice, criticism, ideas are more than welcome.

I just moved to Winston Salem, NC. Does anyone have any tattoo parlors they can recommend for me? Thank you in advance! And cross posted.

It was on my ribs, almost the most painful thing i have ever experienced but could not describe how it felt. I sat for 2.5 hrs and this is what i got:
