06. The character I would shag anytime -- Peter Parker
07. The character I'd want to be like -- MJ - because she gets to indulge in #6 (at least in my version of the movieverse)

10. A pairing that I despise -- Peter and anyone else. Though I love exploring the varying degrees of friendship and enmity Peter has with others.

on 2007-06-09 06:55 am (UTC)I know! Why do they use such strong language for these sometimes, I just don't know...for example, a character "everyone else loves" is so totalizing...*coughs* that's just a pet peeve of mine, but I can see that it throws you a bit here as well.
I'm glad to hear there are more Richard fans out there! The boy deserves some love, since he isn't going to get Lois, I have to think. :)

Kingdom Come is an alternate future universe of the DCU and is dizzying and complicated and beautiful...sadly, Lois is dead in it, which has set in motion all sorts of events. If you can take a Superman/Wonder Woman romance and a ton of characters whipping by, it's an amazing read.
Batman: Hush is (obviously) Batman-focused, but has some wonderful interactions with Superman and Lois in the first volume.
JLA: Tower of Babel and Divided We Fall (2 volumes)--I love Divided We Fall, but you kind of need Tower of Babel to understand the beginning. The heart of Divided we Fall is most of the JLA being split into their superhero and civilian identities, which leads to all sorts of fascinating discussion of the two. Tower of Babel is the one where Batman has all his files on the JLA stolen and used against them. It's a very polarizing storyline, and Dan has learned not to argue with Batman fans about it. :) But very well-done!
We just started Emperor Joker, which is supposed to be chaotic but amazing...also by Loeb...

It's just not right to leave Clark in the dust like that. :( But it's ok ONLY if Clark ends up in a great pairing with a good OC and there aren't any hard feelings. "A Place to Call Home" by Noux is just such an example. Lee (Aileen Rogers) makes you go "Lois? Lois who?" She's *that* good for Clark. ^_^

I can't read OC/Clark very easily. It's worse than canon DC characters for me, which is why Chloe never stood a chance once Lois started on Smallville (or Crackville, as my friends around here like to call it). She's really nothing more than a glorified OC, just like Richard -- as much as I love both of them. ♥
