I'm tired of all the Harry-gets-a-harem male-fantasy fics. (Yawn.) Anyone noticed it always seems to be Harry? Pretty much always het? All the 'girls' ever so eager to line up to be Harry's concubine/servant/co-spouse, focussed completely on making him happy? What a load of dragon dung.
So here's the challenge: write someone else getting a harem.
Examples:
Snape gets a harem
Draco gets a harem
Hermione gets a harem (can you just see her with her strong sense of morality trying to adjust to aquiring several indentured servants due to life debts?)
Lily gets a harem
I'd even be amused by Voldemort getting a harem...
Notes:
Harems can be either slash or het, male or female (or even mixed)
Story style can be drama, preslash, romance, angst, or parody, but must end positively
Harems can be free will, magical contract, life debt, universe jumping (can you imagine Snape with a whole collection of Lilys from various universes? Even better: Lily with a collection of Snapes? Or Hermione with a collection of Rons? This is especially apt if the story follows the one-true-love trope.) Hey, come up with something brand new!
The rules:
1: The person who gets the harem must be reluctant (it's the trope! I'll make an exception in the case of Draco, so long as it also follows the rest of the rules, because I can just imagine him getting all enthusiastic about the idea of a harem, only to discover it is not following his fantasies. I'll even make an exception in the case of Lily and her collection of Snapes, all snarking at each other, with Lily trying to shape them into something better.)
2: No abuse or BDSM within the harem. Snark, on the other hand, is preferred!
3: No sap. Let everyone involved be strong-willed, trying to find / keep their identity in these new circumstances. Let the women be their own person, not getting their identity from the central figure in the relationship. Maybe let it evolve that the central figure moves out of the central role.
4: Everyone involved must be happy with how it ends (of their own free will).
Comment here if you start one, and definitely link in a comment if you finish one!
