CfP: To all Holmes Scholars amongst us

I don't know in which communities the Holmes scholars amongst us are dwelling and please feel free to spread the word on this in the relevant communities but there is a most interesting Call for Papers going on at the moment. It is particularly interested in fandom as well.

Edited Collection on Sherlock Holmes Adaptations

Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories have recently gained new popularity through a variety of adaptations and re-interpretations in a broad variety of media forms. This edited collection will focus on three ways to access these texts: Fan and audience activity, adaptations throughout history and their political and ideological contextualization, and intertextual influences. We welcome submissions for articles of 200 word abstracts on adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

- Adaptation in film, television, theatre/performance, graphic novels, games, and other media forms
- Fan activity surrounding all texts, including fan fiction, slash fiction, shipping, online fandom, etc.
- Reception of adaptations

Holmes/Watson drinking game

I can't remember WHERE I found one, but I'm going to start the search around this comm. Somebody posted a slashy Sherlock Holmes drinking game for the first movie and I really want to find it. Can anybody help me? It was just for the movie. And it was very slashy. Thanks!

Totally Off-Topic - Western Genre Slash Fic

I apologize for this off topic posting but I'm gonna do it anyway. I figure since Sherlock Holmes is historical and westerns are historical there might be some cross-interest.    

Does anyone here have an interest in slashing the old western tv shows and movies? Stuff like Big Valley, Bonanza, Alias Smith & Jones, Silverado, 3:10 To Yuma, etc. Do you know of anyone here on LJ  that does? I've tried searching for like minded LJ folks on my own and haven't had much luck.

I belong to a Yahoo group that focuses on this genre and we're looking for new members. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of slash for westerns and I'm not sure why that is. Its really quite puzzling.  

If anyone has any interest or suggestions of where else I might look, please contact me privately.

Hey kids. I don't know if I've ever posted here, but I've been lurking pretty much since the beginning! I figure I've got to post something sometime, right? My talents don't really fall to writing like all of you excellent writers out there. Most of the time I draw. But a few days ago I got really bored and really nerdy and decided I needed to make some bracelets. I thought of all people, this community would appreciate them! So just thought I'd drop by and share.

I know this is a comm exclusively for the 2009 movie, but seriously- HAS ANYONE SEEN THE NEW SHERLOCK HOLMES TV PROGRAMME BECAUSE IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And nbelievably, mindblowingly slashy XD To make this more legitimate I would give my SOUL for a 2009!Holmes/2010!Holmes Sherlock/John orgyxover :D I love you guys and I can't think of anyone else that can more appreciate the awesomeness that is this show ♥ :)
