Well, I'm only a few hours into my birthday and it's off to a good start. I polished off a bottle of wine before I did anything else \o/

Caught the last five mins of The French Mistake and possibly got a little overly squeeful about Misha and Sebastian on my TV screen.

I got a slanket from Jacqui's parents and jacqui_hw bought me a SPN book (The Mythology of Supernatural) and the SPN Anime series on DVD.

SQUEE.

Then I finished off S1 of Vampire Diaries. I am now officially declaring Damon/Elena as my OTP for that show, although Damon/Alaric is a close second. Basically I just want to smish the ever loving hell out of Damon.

EPIC. CLIFFHANGER.

God, I need to start S2 ASAP.

Oh, and I need to say thanks to duskwillow, blu_3_haze, midnightheir, scribblemoose and lizajaneok for the LJ virtual gifts.

Now I need to go to bed so I can start my birthday proper in a few hours. I actually don't have much planned apart from a meal out in the evening. Maybe I'll watch more TVD.

London was a lot of fun zoeiona made the most sinfully delicious chocolate cake which I had two slices off and it had candles and everyone sang happy birthday

Even though it was a Merlin meetup I wound up in a corner with littlehollyleaf, takadainmate, cienna and tahariel talking about SPN, squeeing about Misha and looking at hot pictures of Jared.

Funtimes.

Had a nice chat and drink with yavannauk and complicat too. Been too long since I've seen the London crowd. I wish I lived closer so the train wasn't so expensive. Last time I was in London it was November last year to meet Misha.

I'm loving the fact that I have somehow managed to get my birthday celebrations so span over a three week period. LOL! A week for every decade. It's been brilliant actually and I have to say I have pretty much got over my 'ZOMG I'M TURNING 30' freakout so thank you :)

Our fridge is still mostly full of alcohol and kafers helped top it up yesterday by buying me a lovely bottle of strawberry wine. Apparently they were out of mead so I'm kind of relieved. LOL!

I also got some rather fantastic other goodies

What is it about being at home that stops me from sleeping. It's nearly 3am and I'm only just starting to get tired :(

Still, I think I have replied to all the comments I needed to.

Lots of things to do tomorrow, luckily mostly fun stuff with a bit of bill paying and tidying in between. I also need to update the SPN Schmoop Meme fic list. I'm thrilled it's still going over a week after I posted it on a whim.

I feel like I want to write something but I'm not sure what. In fact I felt like this while I was away too but I forced myself to take a break from it. I've been working on my big bang fic pretty much solidly for three months and I really needed to just not write anything for a while. Kind of in the mood now but no solid bunnies have struck me yet. I'll just have to wait for the muses I guess.

Oh, and I had exciting things in the post when I got home

Sorting out my holiday pics is another little job for tomorrow I think. So much time and so little to do. Wait, strike that, reverse it.

Bloody hell you guys! jacqui_hw just linked me to hils_30th_bday. You guys are SO amazing! I may or may not have cried a little in the middle of the hotel lobby

We're about to head out for a trip to a local botanical garden and waterfall but I will definitely be back later to read through all the lovely comm posts

It's been a fantastic day so far. The hotel gave us complimentary Prosecco (which is a lovely sweet sparking wine) with our breakfast this morning and Ros made me a happy smiley face

Thank you so much to everyone who came and a HUGE thank you to jacqui_hw for organising it all. I think this is about the best thing that I've done this year

Flist, I have bestest friend in the whole wide world

jacqui_hw threw me a surprise party for my birthday and got a whole load of my friends to come, including a load of my friends from out of town. It was absolutely amazing and I was so stunned and happy. WHEE!

And just after I did a post saying I wouldn't be having a party this year because I'll be on holiday when it's my birthday

Uh, I have quite a lot of photos so I shall spread them over a couple of posts I have had orders from several people to post them all
