As a result of the office bitca being...well....a bitca to me she has now been given her own assisstant. This guy is going to sit at my desk whereas I have been moved to a small table at the end of someone elses desk. I barely have room for my computer let alone space to do any work.
Of course the office bitca is as happy as can be. She's got her own member of staff to boss around and I'm far away from her.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it normal to punish the person in the wrong, not the other way round.
And my boss thinks this is the solution to the problem. Fuck I hate my job.
Plagued by weird dreams last night which eventually woke me up
First of all I had a dream that I was sitting an exam, but I couldn't think of ANYTHING to write so I just sat there and stared at the empty psge until it was over. Then I panicked and wanted to try and take it again but I wasn't allowed so I was thinking of some way to cheat so that I would get a grade.
Woke up, fell back asleep and dreamt I was working for a drug dealer and I kept trying to escape from his house and getting caught.
My journal is kind of boring (layout-wise..and probably content wise too but that's my problem) and I was wondering if you lovely graphically minded people could help me out. I'd love a banner to put at the top of my journal just to brighten it up a bit. I don't really mind what of, Spike, Spuffy, Sparrington, a combination of my interests, whatever. I just want a pretty journal. Ideally I'd like the colour scene to fit in with the black/red that I've got going on here and at my site but I'll leave it up to you
I'll write a fic or make some icons for anyone who helps me out *flutters eyes*
I swear my brain is being saturated by West Wing. Had another dream about it last night and yet again I was Donna. I was sat in a car with Josh and he was explaining to me in great length why I had to vote a certain way
When I went to the bank a few months ago to sort out my finances I reduced my overdraft limit to zero. I was told at the time that if I found I needed more money I could have it increased again. While I'm finishing off paying for the cruise I'm spending a little more each month than I would be normally so I've run out of cash. Phoned the bank and asked them to increase my overdraft limit until just after Christmas when my spending will be back to normal and the girl I spoke to said she had to refer it to somone else and they'll call me back
If I'd known it was going to be a problem I wouldn't have got rid of the damn thing in the first place!
Still trying to think of good Halloween party games for a bunch of people between the ages of 25 and 30. So far I've come up with apple bobbing and that's about it. I've never been to a Halloween party before and I've never thrown one so I don't really know what I'm doing

One of my senior managers has made a complaint to the deputy CE about the wording of the feeback, specifically the line about 'the responses were not considered strong enough to indicate suitability to perform the full range of duties in the next grade'.
Because I passed a management assessment board last year, this was just supposed to be a suitability interview to see if I have the skills to do the specific job, not whether I am management material. I have already demonstrated that.
The decisions won't change at all but I've been told I have grounds to make a formal complaint should I choose. I'm not going to but it appears the guy interviewing me was treating it as a promotion interview rather than a suitability interview

I'm just going to do my best tomorrow. It's all I can do and if I don't get it then there will be other jobs.

One good thing about this week is that I've been getting a lot of exercise. In total I'm walking for two and a half hours per day. Which is good.
I'm not sure I'm going to get my Joe Phillips fic finished tomorrow but I'm pretty sure it will be done by Saturday. So that's good. Gives me three weeks to get my CLFF fic done. After that I will be challenge free! WHEE!!
Kitty has returned. She was waiting for me when I got home, demanding her dinner as soon as I walked through the front door. LOL
I'm knackered! There were no free seats on the train tonight so I had to stand up. My feet are killing me! I'm going to watch Bionic Woman in a bit, do some loafing around and then go to bed

Dad-Ra is on the early shift this morning and when he left work at 6:30am Fergus decided to come and sleep on my bed.
He got up when Mum-Ra came home from work at 8am and Max took his place. Mum-Ra popped in to give me a detailed description of all the Halloween sweets and biscuits they have in Tescos (I said I'd buy some for drbillbongo's party) and by that time I was fully awake

This is going to be another expensive month for me. I've got two birthdays, two holidays, the deposit for a third holiday and Christmas presents to pay for.
This is why I'm at my parents house and not in London seeing the pretty Merlin boys.
I've also just done something that may or may not have been a good idea. I went into the PO to get some Euros for when I go to Germany next week. What I came away with is a money card. It's like a debit card only you don't get charged for using it abroad (unless you're withdrawing cash) but you load money onto it before you travel. The two women in the PO were singing its praises but I'm feeling less than convinced now I'm home.
Anyone else come across these and is it any good? It's Visa Electron which I know not many shops accept over here.

This is a great source material book for those of you who write pre-series fic. It really gave me a good feel for what life was like for the boys before the pilot and it's also packed full of lore if you're looking for new monsters to include. I liked it a lot.
One thing that surprised me though. I thought there was only a three year age gap between the boys but according to this Dean is 21 when Sam is 17

Dean/Castiel Across The Universe After Sam is gone, Dean drives around without a purpose or destination. Castiel follows and finds out firsthand what both human grief and human desire feel like. I really loved seeing Cas struggling to understand grief and the slow build of his relationship with Dean. This was the perfect balance of angst and schmoop for me
In This Life Dean would do anything to help Castiel live a happy and fulfilling human life, but Cas' ideas about how to do that are eating away at their friendship. When Dean finally comes to terms with why this is, will it be too late to save what they had? Oh, I loved this so much! Poor Dean! Poor Cas! And awesome!Sam *g*
Blood is Freedom's Stain by littlehollyleaf Set after 5.20 'The Devil You Know.' It turns out Gabriel has more and better friends than he realised. Friends willing to do what ever it takes to bring him back - including manipulating a well-meaning, if somewhat naïve, Castiel. But perhaps the consequences, painful as they are and all the worse for playing out as the apocalypse nears its climax, are just the catalyst Dean and Cas need to admit their growing feelings for each other (and maybe even teach Gabriel a thing or two as well). This is an epic fic in the absolute literal sense of the word. It's well written, dramatic and chock full of awesome. I sat up until 4am reading it because I couldn't stop.
Face to Face with the Skies by quiddative Castiel was not killed by Raphael on the night of Lucifer’s release. Instead, he’s sent to the year 1996 and encounters the Winchesters. Unable to return to the present, Castiel resigns himself to traveling with them on their hunts across the states. Meanwhile in the year 2008, Dean has barely gotten used to being back in the land of the living when he gets the biggest shock of his life; the man he fell in love with when he was eighteen has seemingly come back from the grave as well, claiming to be an angel of the Lord. The thing is, he doesn’t have a clue who Dean is. Another absolutely amazing and gripping read. Really neat concept wonderfully executed. I was sad when it was over.
Paved with Good Intentions by crystamartin When Castiel finally locates Dean in Hell after forty years, he finds the righteous man changed into something much darker than the angel had expected. Such a creature cannot be resurrected, so Castiel must return him to the man he used to be before he can be sent back to Earth. I really love the idea behind this and it's a lovely engaging fic. I enjoyed being on the journey with the characters.
Gen The Bird that Feels the Light by ratherastory AU from 5.18 (or thereabouts). Castiel awakens in the middle of a smoking crater, stranded and very much human. According to the people who have discovered him, it’s six months to the day after Michael and Lucifer faced off on the field of battle outside of Detroit, and Castiel isn’t the only one to have returned. When, at his insistence, they take him to this other person, he finds a child –a little boy– and realizes that, contrary to all his expectations, he has been reunited with Dean Winchester. The world has changed in their absence, and not for the better. Sam is gone, whether dead or simply missing is uncertain. Castiel is given the name of a man in Idaho who may have answers for him. He is faced with the task of travelling cross-country with Dean, who is dependent on him now in ways he never was before, in order to discover the truth. But along the way, as he and Dean learn to know and trust each other once more, Castiel begins to realize that the answers he thought he wanted might not be the ones he needs. This was amazing. I got absolutely sucked into this and everyone was written perfectly. The OCs were natural and realistic and I loved that some old characters came back in a way that didn't feel forced at all. Absolutely wonderful story.
Jensen/Misha Reflections of Heaven and Home by morganoconner Brought back to life and tossed into a world not his own, Gabriel finds himself unwittingly in the company of three humans...three humans who are both painfully familiar to him and vastly different from the people he left behind. In Jensen and Misha, he sees the same hidden longing he'd long since grown to recognize in Dean and Castiel, and with nothing else to occupy his attention, he sets out to do something about it the way he never could in his own world. Meanwhile, in Jared, he finds a partner-in-crime, a friend...and maybe something else he isn't entirely ready for. I'm sure you all know I love FPS/RPS crossovers and this one did not disappoint. It was an absolute joy to read. Everyone was very much in character despite of the unusual scenario and I was just smiling from start to end.
Well, I did everything that needed doing on my crappy list of crap. Applied for two jobs and uploaded my CV onto a bunch of search sites. It obviously works because someone called me about a job less than an hour after I uploaded it. I'll hear about that one next week.
So things are moving along slowly. Will be applying for more things tomorrow and I'll keep applying until something bites.
And I should have an appointment at the Job Centre in the next few days to sort out benefits and other things I hate having to claim for.
I know I keep going on about this but the SPN cast never fails to amaze me with how kind and thoughtful they are. Seriously, I've been doing conventions for coming up to 10 years now and no cast has had an impact on me the way the SPN guys do.
It's not even the main stars that I'm talking about (although I'm sure Jared and Jensen are lovely) but the guys and girls who have only been in a few episodes and have gone on to do countless other projects still care.
I've always been impressed with Richard from interviews I read with him, and when I met him in Chicago he was just so nice. I didn't feel like I was talking to a TV star at all it was like having a chat with a friend.
Anyway, this account from this year's Chicon had me in tears.
It's stuff like this that means I will follow and support these guys no matter what they do. It's like they see us as people not just fans.
24 – Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story? I generally just use one beta for a fic although at the moment I don't have a regular beta in either of my current fandoms (MUNCLE and Dragon Age). Generally I just ask nicely on Tumblr/Twitter/LJ and hope someone is available to help me out.
In my opinion betas are the unsung heroes of fandom. They put so much time and effort into ensuring the end results of our efforts are the best they can be. If you have a beta be sure to thank them. I am so appreciative of anyone who has helped me with my fics over the years.
