This one is finished. ASOIAF/Game of Thrones, a ficlet, rated a soft-R.

Summary: Written to the throneland community prompt: Theon and Jon hate each other because they both love Robb. (Apologies in advance; it was written in about 15 minutes or less.)

The challenges are easy, low pressure, plenty of time, oceans of time, in fact. There are graphics and writing challenges both and ways to collaborate if you are not comfortable with one or the other.

I have responded to the challenges in various ways; sometimes with minimal effort simply to get the points and others more thoughtfully, building up a small body of writing in the fandom. (I have found the occasional games incomprehensible; but there were only a couple of those and the rest of you are brighter than me when it comes to that sort of thing.)

I can use this opportunity to pimp It Is Always Summer in the Songs my last real ASOIAF story. (Spoilers for the next season, I guess. Nothing is spoiled if you watch the trailers or read the books. I like it a lot still, nearly four months after writing it. It's Loras/Renly.)

I do not have the powers of concentration to write this up or do the research and comparison. But for those who care here are some preliminary notes….I am posting them because I will never get beyond this. And some of you may enjoy the observations.

I would agree with him whole heartedly, from my limited exposure in recent years to medieval historical novels. ( Collapse )

So I always bitch and moan about how slow I write. I wanted to meet a deadline and so I wrote two ficlets. The first is a drabble which took less than five minutes. And the second, no better, no worse, took probably more like 20 minutes. (Slash fics: Robb/Jon and Loras/Renly. No spoilers beyond A Game of Thrones.)
