New and looking for help

Hello,

I am new here, and, like many of you have been searching all of my life for some sort of proof of the afterlife.

To be honest, I haven't found much and despite my collections of ghost stories, my avid watching of supernatural reality television, and my visits to haunted locations, I still find myself in need  of proof that SOMETHING exists after this.  I'm assuming I'm not alone.

I call this being a Ghost Skeptic....someone who is quite obsessed with the supernatural and life after death, but someone who still doesn't quite believe it exists.

So I'm writing a book...an article...I'm trying to gather a collection of TRUE stories from people who have had experiences.  I'm not the first one, nor will I be the last, but this is something I am very dedicated to.

Please, if you have a story, let me know in your reply.  If you'd rather tell me over private e-mails, I'd be happy to do that as well, just give me your e-mail address as I will be making ALL replies screened and will not post any you would rather not have me post.  Having as many details in your stories is very important...the names of places and buildings, dates, years, etc.  Names can be changed if you wish.

I will not use past posted stories, as I will require your permission to use said story if I actually do finish this.  Even if I don't, I will send all of you what I have compiled.

Either way, this is just the beginning of this adventure (well the prologue is written) and I hope to find real people on Live Journal to participate.

Thank you for your time, and here's to not being a skeptic any longer!

If this is not allowed, I apologize.

Hello

Hey everyone! New member here, and thought a cliche introduction would be cool. (or lame as hell, you pick.)

My name is Anne, and I am from Marion, Ohio. Believe it or not, we have some interesting ghost tells here (if you can over look the fact we're the arm-pit of Ohio...).

I have, however, been to some popular places in south-eastern Ohio, like Hope Furnace and Old Man's Cave. I did not witness anything in those two areas, but would love to go back here soon with intentions of finding something that might give a sign of a haunting.

Though, ghost believe or not, I do not believe everything (as no one should) posted on the internet, or some of the ghost shows that are currently popular (ex. Most Haunted).

^^; Hope that's not too lame.

Anyways, I look forward to reading interesting post, and posting some myself. Though, I hope this community is still a little active.

neato-mosquito Xmas light display . . . and looking for a job . . .

Does anybody know where this guy's house is and what frequency your radio needs to be set to in order to hear what music he's playing this year? More info can be found at http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/… . I don't watch the news much, so maybe it's been shown on their. I'd really like to get some sort of contact info for him (Carson Williams of Mason, OH) so I can find out more.

Also, I am looking for a new job. I'm being screwed over by my current employer and it's time to find something new . . . or at least something to help me supplement what little income they are providing me. I'd prefer to make $8/hr.+ . . . no food service and no telemarketing. Plus no heavy lifting and fairly flexible hours. I'd prefer to work somewhere with in 20 minutes of Fairfield, other wise I may end up just doing work study at school, although making the commute on a semi-daily basis would suck, as I only have class one day a week down there now.

Thanks a lot everybody.

a guy in the Ohio Goths community had issues with me posting this in the uber-1337 community, so if you have a problem, I can delete it.

Strangewire

Strangewire.com

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know about Strangewire.com, a blog for all things paranormal, supernatural, and the like from legitimate news sources. Unlike the type of sites and columns that deal in "wacky news"-style articles about goofy work mishaps and amusing medical malpractice, Strangewire attempts to deal with phenomena that are part of a bigger question, from strange lights in the sky in the south-west US, to a man with claims of a haunting in Australia, from zombies and voodoo practice in Haiti to global government conspiracies. Fox Mulder's favorite blog, in other words. Recent articles include headlines such as "FLESH CHUNKS IN IOWA WATER LINES" and "NEW JAPANESE GHOST DETECTOR FOR SALE."

Check out Strangwire.com, or just add the livejournal feed here to your friends list.

Thanks!

hello fellow ohioans and ghost hunters alike. i wanted to make a post about my new LJ community ghostly_oh - i am currently working on a website based entirely on exploring cemeteries/universities/abandoned places only in ohio. i am not going to post all the pictures i take on the community b/c that wouldn't make my website very interesting. however, i am going to be posting frequently in there w/ each new place i go.

i encourage you, if you will, to come join my community. you can go there now to check out the pictures i have up and see if you would like to join or not.

NEW

Hi, I am a new Ohioan to join this community. I use to read Ghost Books (not neccisarily Haunted Ohio books) and some of the stories took place in Ohio. My boyfriend and I got the Ghost Hunters Guide to Haunted Ohio. We planned on visiting places. But, we never got around to it. I really want to visit some places but majority in the book are quite a ways away. I am in Kent and my home city is Niles and Warren. There are a flew places in Warren in the book we got. I wish there was more in NE Ohio. I wish Nelson Ledges in Portage County was Haunted. Seems like a good place. ;) I am becoming more interested in these sorts of things ever since I saw a preview for White Noise and have been reading about EVP from the link I got at the movies website.

I wish there was a way for me to research places. Supposedly the one theater here in Kent is haunted. I always like researching and reading stories behind the people who haunt places. It's called University Plaza Theater. Hmmm. I have been wanting to google it and will sometime soon.
